The performance Keyways is inspired by Owen Sheer's poem of the same name.
During the final performance, the artist stood still, cloaked in red sheets while members of the audience interacted with the padlock at her crotch from the keys on the floor.
The artist begins to try to untangle herself from the drapes. At points she is tied further in. Once out she tries to open the padlock using the keys on the floor. She then resorts to cutting through the material and tearing it in two before walking away from the performance area.
L.A.R. discussed works around relationships and intimacy primarily. The artist chose to use the opportunity to make work about how consuming and toxic love can be. The piece explores issues of consent, passion, pain and reputation.
