Tread (2018)

The artist kneels down to place eggshells on the ground in front of the White House. She then stands bare foot on the eggshells.

The artist considers her own identities in this performance. As a woman, as a person of colour and as an immigrant the work is a literal statement about having to tread lightly in America. The site demonstrates the relevance of the political climate on these identities while evoking considerations into the parallels of the past and present.
