Conform Street Performance (2016)

Priya Rupra's first solo performance Conform on the high street of Lincoln city, Lincolnshire, UK. This work discussed social conformity to the system. The artist covers herself in the google definition of the "Public" which has been translated to every available google translation as well as translated into various languages then back into English. She binds these words using string to conceal herself and her identity to symbolise the restrictions and deindividuation and dehumanisation "the system" allows.
